I would like to welcome and introduce everyone to the new year…2011….this is everyone….everyone… this is 2011. Isn’t the new year always exciting. A chance to start everything fresh and make new goals for the year. It is our hope here at the Rising Youth that this would be a year of RES-A-REVOLUTION. Not just personal resolutions but revolutions that will make an impact on the world around us today.

It’s time for a revolt against the tyranny of pop culture that runs our every moment. Think about it, most of us can even go 12hrs with out updating our Twitter status. Really, what is more important? Telling people we just left school and are heading to our gf’s house, or seeing lives impacted with a life changing love that changes everyone who embraces it.

Make it a point this year to think about what impact you are making not only in your own life, but the lives that surround you. THIS IS THE YEAR OF RES-A-REVOLUTION. Stand and Rising with us! TO GOD BE THE GLORY, FOREVER AND EVER!

Lot’s of opportunities are available for you to come take part in our movement. It all starts with get involved, come and hang with us! First event of this year begins JAN. 5th at 5.50PM with BLACKLIGHT DODGE BALL in theFLC. Food, games, prizes, and fellowship on this Spring Rising Kick-off night.

Also JAN. 28th brings our associational P3 Lockin. Leaving the church at 11PM we will be at P3 in Savannah from 12 to 6am. Packages start at $30, but it cost nothing to just come and hang! There will be worship that night with the JOSH VAGORS BAND, so invite a friend and don’t miss out.

To other quick reminders YEC is coming up soon. $40 is due by Feb.2 which pays for your ticket and hotel stay. Also missions trip papers and $50 deposit is due by JAN. 16th.

WOW! What a week! Over the past week, the FBC Bethel Springs missions team has returned from a life changing missions trip to the Appalachian Mountain. Our Team completed a building project expected to last 4 days, in a day and a half. The weather was perfect, not too hot, which helped with the speedyness of the building phase.

Following the building project we were able to focus on our Evangelism project. Our team went door to door inviting over 300 families to our already highly advertised Family Fun Picnic at Jaycee Park in Church Hill Tennessee. We saw over 200 folk show up for our event, and most importantly we saw one woman give her life to the Lord. There were also 5 re-dedications and many believers requested prayer for tough situations in their life.

Looking over this past week we can see the very foot prints of God as he carried us though this last week. Everything that happened that week was exactly what God wanted. From the project to the park to the people we visit, after all was said and done we knew that our prayers were answered and God’s will was done. Thanks to everyone who prayed for us while we were gone, we know every pray counted and God answered. Come Sunday July 11th at 6PM to see our slideshow, videos, and testimonies from the team. YOU’RE ALMOST THERE!!!!!! Spring Break is right around the corner and we are kicking it off with a night of mini-golf. March 17th following Wednesday night service we will load up the vans and head to Jackson Family Fun. It is $5 for a round of mini-golf, and we will stop for a treat on the way back. Come and spend the evening with us and bring a friend!

Come hang out with us as we kick off a new season of Wednesday Night Rising Youth. We will be having a special service entitled “BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!” a worship service with drums! We now have an xbox 360 and wii for your entertainment before and after services, come check it out! Lots of great stuff coming up this year like YEC, Starlab, Coffee Houses, Concerts, and Missions Trips! Parents if your teen is in 7th grade or up, please encourage them to be here to experience God and great fellowship all throughout the year.

The busses are running again and we are back and running with our wednesday night program. Our first night out we had a great time doin’ it Fear Factor style. Many prizes won, laughs, fellowship, and a great time of worship and teaching. You won’t want to miss a week. New Fresh and exciting things are coming towards your each and every week. Thanks to all of our supporters finically and to those who sent up there prayers for the group 7 youth and adults that went to Queens, NY for a missions trip. God blessed us to the very core and shook us up a little. We had the wonderful privilege to work with soup kitchens, back yard kids clubs, and elderly in assisted living homes, this experience was truly humbling. Over the course of the week one of our teams got the direct opportunity to lead 13 soul to the Lord, PRAISE GOD!
